Warcraft Wednesday: Battle Pet Update!

The last time that we had updated the stats on my battle pet collection was on December 5. I want to keep my goal of collecting, and document the journey along the way! You can read the December post here as a reference!

At that time, I had six hundred and ninety two pets total and of those pets collected, one hundred and ninety nine at max level. Of all of the pets collected two pets at poor quality, seventeen at common quality, one hundred and seventy at uncommon quality, and a whopping five hundred and two at the rare quality.

Now, in January, my total pet count went up to seven hundred and nineteen pets, two hundred and 11 of them are at max level. Of those pets, one is at the poor quality bracket, twenty at common quality, one hundred and seventy are still at uncommon quality bracket, with five hundred and twenty three of the pets are at rare quality!

So that that tells you is that of the pets that I have collected, I have other caught them as rare’s or use the pet battle tokens that I have been receiving to upgrade them as soon as I can. By this time next month, other then the obvious, I would like to increase the number count a little further and move the common and poor pets out of that category and have them rare. I still have a bunch of work to do but I am looking forward to it.

Warcraft Wednesday: When It Is No Longer Fun!

At this point in my Warcraft play time that I have, I am not having as much fun as I would like to be. It is less about game design and more about where and how I want to spend my time in the game.

Warcraft, of course, has it’s minor issues. The player base has been vocal about the issues as well. Overall, it has been a hit or a miss for the vast majority. For me, Battle For Azeroth has been fun for what time I have spent with in the game, with the exception of my choice of a main. I have played a priest for the longest time and for the life-span of the character, RNG has not been great to her. Toss on top a 5% reduction of damage overall for shadow priest, not having the haste that she needs currently (due to not having drops in her favor), I have shifted to just doing World quest and whatever weekly that is available for the week.

Island expeditions, for as quick as they can be to plow through (2 hours tops to have it done for the week), is not holding me over.

I know what a lot of responses will be. Play holy. Honestly, that is my least favorite spec and I have not played discipline enough within the last year or more that I am horrifically out of practice.

So, a new class it is. Recently, I have been having a lot of fun with leveling Hunters or learning about the Demon Hunter class. I have not fell on what class I would like to continue with as of yet; however, I have options.

At this point, taking a few weeks off other then raiding is also an option.

Just a few thought’s I have had for this week, and I am thankful that Blizzard is continuing to create a game that I still enjoy.

On that note, I am going to level and come to a decision soon on what to main. Also I created a few goals for the month of January that includes increasing the gold flow, continuing to run world quest daily, run old world raids weekly, and to fill out my battle pet collection a little more by the end of the month.

Hopefully, I will be ready when the new raid drops on the 11th.

Warcraft Wednesday: 8.1 Drop!

So, I spent most of my time logged in to Warcraft today doing island expedition’s, World Quest, and leveling up a hunter alt.

It was nothing to fancy but it seems like leveling seems to be going quickly.

I am not sure what is pushing me to level up a hunter other than I haven’t had the class at max level. Otherwise, Warcraft today for me seemed to be very uneventful.

Funny thing is, the hunter is a gnome. Nothing particularly interesting other then mechanical pets. At this point I’m just doing the leveling up thing until the next raid teir is available for us middle of next month.

I don’t think we have spent enough time with the new patch for me to formulate a full opinion on it.

Warcraft Wednesday: Confessions Of A Raider? (or PVP’er!)

wowscrnshot_090218_011625.jpgI have been provided an idea for a segment for Zephirah’s Adventure Podcast that I would like to try. It will be called “Confessions Of A Raider” and similarly to the previous “Community Spotlight’s” there will be several questions for the participant to answer.

Obviously, these questions will be specific to raiding (or pvp) and the experience of the player.

If you would like to participate in the “Confessions Of A Raider / PVP’er!” please reach out to me via twitter @Zephirah_Zella or on Discord.

Warcraft: Virtual Ticket Shenanigans?

blizzcon-logo-og-39036eb778a980553e0d9aedc668c1b6ca825e46cb8c1d1b30cfe95e4e2918fcc0fd69e17666353c3f6c29541275f18ee8b2a5835bde018693283f4d05702142Blizzard recently let us know about the rewards for this year’s Blizzcon Virtual Ticket!

To be honest, the rewards are underwhelming. They are banners and cloaks. Some are upset due to what the rewards are and I can understand. In a recent stream, Panzer aka Trade Chat made a few good points that I wanted to highlight.

First of all, the reward’s are a bonus item that we receive as part of the virtual ticket sale in World Of Warcraft and other games under the Blizzard umbrella. We are actually spending the money for all of the panels, equipment used, and to pay people that are manning that equipment for their time. I know a lot of people think that they are missing out on the collectibles. Honestly, these in game goodies are not ideal but not the worst things in the world. There are so many various things out there in game right now that I still need to farm, so missing these items will not make or break the Blizzcon experience for me. However, there are others that view the lack of items as being a slap in the face. To have the classic play test being a part of it seems like that is what the extra ten dollars that people are paying for. Honestly, not everyone is into that idea and I do not blame them for feeling that way. They are separate things and should probably stay that way.

Panzer also mentioned that not all players will be into this and with the player’s email being attached to their accounts with the classic announcement is how we would know if the player has interest in classic or not.

This year for me, I know it is not really worth the value but spending the fifty dollars that I have saved on game time, card backs, or a mount or two on the store for World Of Warcraft would be the better bet. That is just a personal preference. Not that anyone spending the cash on the virtual ticket is a bad thing. If anything, I am glad that it is going to Blizzard rather then some crazy site that will just scam you out of the cash. Also, I just figure that fan site’s like wowhead, Blizzard Watch, Blizzpro and a plethora of podcast would fill out the news for me that will save me the money to put elsewhere.

I know that Panzer was a little salty and cursed a lot; however, if you get past the angry part and actually listen to what she had to say it made a lot of common sense.

World Questing: Music Motivation!

For all intensive purposes, let me lead this post of by saying that I absolutely love the soundtrack that the Blizzard team puts together for their expansions. However, at times I do need to listen to something different by other talented artist.

I want to give these artist the space to be creative and give them some of my attention as well when I game. To become immersed in what they are trying to achieve by listening in a way that I would naturally.

Once I listened to the following music I absolutely fell in love with all of the elements of the music.

I hope you enjoy it as much as I do!
