In This Moment

in this moment logoA few months ago my older brother was in the mist of battle in Overwatch and listening to music via Pandora on his Xbox One. After his amazing game, he walked down the steps and was so excited to let me know what he was listening to. So excited, that he was chatty like a little school girl.

In This Moment, a metal band that formed in California, 2005. The lead singer Maria Brink and guitarist Chris Howorth were introduced by a mutual friend. The pair found their drummer and quickly started to get to work on their music.

Their debut album, Beautiful Tragedy, released in March 2007. Their substantially heavy sound has allowed the singles to shine, with clean vocals, landed them overall a exceptionally great set of reviews for the album.

The Dream, the second album, released September 2008 and landed at #73 on the Billboard Top 200 chart with first week sales of more than 8,000 copies. In the album, there was less screaming for more melodies with the vocals of Brink. sound took a more ’80s inspired hard rock approach mixed with melodic metal, an accepted challenge that Brink took on with ease to have an ever changing & explosive dynamic.

The third album, A Star-Crossed Wasteland, released July 9th, 2010, That was described as the most anticipated album of the year by Alternative Press. Maria Brink, in an interview described the album is about her experiences with a relationship. It was an underlying theme for this whole entire album. “Hold On”

hope[Trigger Warning: This video contains sensitive imagery, including pill/alcohol abuse, and suicide attempt.]

You may better know Derek Hough as a cast member of the reality tv show “Dancing With The Stars”.

In November 2017, in an interview with Billboard Hough reveals that he is going to be performing on the band Breaking Benjamin’s  upcoming album Ember. scheduled for a release in 2018, and he has a wonderful voice.

In his video for the song “Hold On” you also would have never thought that he had seen his uncle committed suicide in front of him & the whirlwind effect that has on family and friends. He was also inspired for the song from the front man of Linkin Park, Chester Bennington, passing away.

I know usually that Monday is usually strictly music. Nonetheless, I feel like music has a healing affect to it. It can uplift people out the depths of dark places. Music, can & does save life.

I wanted to let people know that you are not alone, and there us help.
