Thursday Thought’s: Topic Ideas!

As a blogger, at times, I run into an issue. More often then not the issue comes up as a couple articles that are just “updates” for the same or similar topics or just reacting to news that is big at the time. No matter what it is. Weather it falls into the MTG, Warcraft, or other gaming related things or covering music.

I want to challenge myself to do things slightly different. Not only to stand out from the rest, but to become better as a blogger. So, recently I sat down and gave it some thought. What do I want to wright about? What is it that will challenge me in a way that I would ultimately be proud of? I decided to start with my Warcraft post’s. In the next several Wednesday’s, other then my last post of the month that is dedicated to the following month’s special events on the calender, you will see something different.

I am really excited to give this a go and hopefully it is easy for you guys to read, and also be proud to share with your friends!

Warcraft Wednesday: Battle Pet Update!

The last time that we had updated the stats on my battle pet collection was on December 5. I want to keep my goal of collecting, and document the journey along the way! You can read the December post here as a reference!

At that time, I had six hundred and ninety two pets total and of those pets collected, one hundred and ninety nine at max level. Of all of the pets collected two pets at poor quality, seventeen at common quality, one hundred and seventy at uncommon quality, and a whopping five hundred and two at the rare quality.

Now, in January, my total pet count went up to seven hundred and nineteen pets, two hundred and 11 of them are at max level. Of those pets, one is at the poor quality bracket, twenty at common quality, one hundred and seventy are still at uncommon quality bracket, with five hundred and twenty three of the pets are at rare quality!

So that that tells you is that of the pets that I have collected, I have other caught them as rare’s or use the pet battle tokens that I have been receiving to upgrade them as soon as I can. By this time next month, other then the obvious, I would like to increase the number count a little further and move the common and poor pets out of that category and have them rare. I still have a bunch of work to do but I am looking forward to it.

Warcraft Wednesday: Bucket List revisited & recreated!

In 2018 I made huge strides to get to my goals. 2019 is screaming for a few simpler goals that are attainable for the year!

With that being said here are my goals in Warcraft in 2019!

  • Do as many world quest as I possibly can! So, if that means I can only do the 4 for the world quest daily, then I do 4. If I can do more – then do more. However, I at least want to meet the minimum of the daily turn in.
  • Keep Up with follower missions! Especially the ones that provide AP, gold, and Pet Tokens!
  • Mythic’s! At least attempt a mythic on a weekly basis.
  • Weekly Island Expeditions. It is a huge chunk of AP for minimal effort.
  • Other Classes At 120! I at least would like to have one or two other classes then my main to 120 for some flavor and for alt nights with the raid team! That also lends itself to having more chances on gathering pets around the world and older content to be run for mounts!
  • Weekly Old World Raids! There are a few mounts that I still am looking for in game after years and years of the raid being out. The Lich King is not so nice boys and girls. I would swear that mount really is invisible!
  • Pet Battles! (And collection!) I want to continue to work on and collect pets. It does not need to be daily; however, to give a stab at it once or twice a week for a little bit of time would be a great way to move forward in collecting and battle against other players.

So that is a few things that I was thinking about working on with Warcraft for 2019. What goals do you have for the year?

Warcraft Wednesday: When It Is No Longer Fun!

At this point in my Warcraft play time that I have, I am not having as much fun as I would like to be. It is less about game design and more about where and how I want to spend my time in the game.

Warcraft, of course, has it’s minor issues. The player base has been vocal about the issues as well. Overall, it has been a hit or a miss for the vast majority. For me, Battle For Azeroth has been fun for what time I have spent with in the game, with the exception of my choice of a main. I have played a priest for the longest time and for the life-span of the character, RNG has not been great to her. Toss on top a 5% reduction of damage overall for shadow priest, not having the haste that she needs currently (due to not having drops in her favor), I have shifted to just doing World quest and whatever weekly that is available for the week.

Island expeditions, for as quick as they can be to plow through (2 hours tops to have it done for the week), is not holding me over.

I know what a lot of responses will be. Play holy. Honestly, that is my least favorite spec and I have not played discipline enough within the last year or more that I am horrifically out of practice.

So, a new class it is. Recently, I have been having a lot of fun with leveling Hunters or learning about the Demon Hunter class. I have not fell on what class I would like to continue with as of yet; however, I have options.

At this point, taking a few weeks off other then raiding is also an option.

Just a few thought’s I have had for this week, and I am thankful that Blizzard is continuing to create a game that I still enjoy.

On that note, I am going to level and come to a decision soon on what to main. Also I created a few goals for the month of January that includes increasing the gold flow, continuing to run world quest daily, run old world raids weekly, and to fill out my battle pet collection a little more by the end of the month.

Hopefully, I will be ready when the new raid drops on the 11th.

Feature Friday: Alternative Chat!

Let me start with the following statement. With any featured blog, video, tweet, or any other from of commentary I post to the blog those are though’s of that particular person. I in no way want to sway their thoughts or opinions. I would rather like to have a conversation on the topic at hand. I am not going to openly have a salty take on things here either.

In other words, if you are going to be a jerk, this is not the place for it.

On that note, I found Alternative Chat’s “The End of the Innocence” post interesting. You can read their entire post here! (Clicky Clicky!)

In their post, and I am quoting here. “I am not here to tell you how to spend your cash. I cannot also reasonably direct anyone to stop enjoying something they clearly love and appreciate based on business decisions. The whole mantra of ‘let people enjoy what they do’ needs to continue to be sung, for as long as people have the capacity to do so. How that happens is nobody else’s business but yours.” That statement I absolutely agree with. Who are you, Alternative Chat’s author, any other player of Warcraft, and I to tell anyone to tell someone how to spend their money? I find people that do that type of thing incredibly insulting and to be quite honest an absolute jerk bag.

Alternative Chat pointed out the new mount on the Blizzard store was only meant to be for Korean player base. I will entertain the idea that they have in their post as well that it is a flying, blue colored mount that is a skin of the fox mount from Legion that could be obtained via your Class Hall Mission table. I was lucky enough to get the said mount in my collection. I use it often. Honestly, I do not know weather or not I am going to spend the cash to get it because of the other various mounts in game that I have yet to get to drop that I, as a collector, would love to have.

Is it a cash grab? Sure. Whatever terms you want to use there. However, paying for mounts from the Blizzard online store is not something new. This is also true for Battle Pets. (My previous statement about collecting in game Battle Pets in game over purchasing them still stands in this situation!)

Basically, with the changes within the company recently, one that is out there for making money. With the end of the Heroes of the Storm esports and the release globally of the mount, in the long run, making money is in mind. Do I hate that people lost their jobs? Hell yes. It is also just before the holiday season. It just plain sucks.

I just hope that their is some way to work things out in the future to have the esports for Hero’s at a smaller scale. I know people love that game and the esports behind it. How to accomplish that? I have no idea.

*sigh*

Basically, if you like the mount and want to get it – do so. If not then don’t. Also, remember that there are people behind the pixels. You know, actual humans. Practice being kind even if you do not like what happened.

Warcraft Wednesday: 8.1 Drop!

So, I spent most of my time logged in to Warcraft today doing island expedition’s, World Quest, and leveling up a hunter alt.

It was nothing to fancy but it seems like leveling seems to be going quickly.

I am not sure what is pushing me to level up a hunter other than I haven’t had the class at max level. Otherwise, Warcraft today for me seemed to be very uneventful.

Funny thing is, the hunter is a gnome. Nothing particularly interesting other then mechanical pets. At this point I’m just doing the leveling up thing until the next raid teir is available for us middle of next month.

I don’t think we have spent enough time with the new patch for me to formulate a full opinion on it.
