Thursday Thought’s: Podcast is moving to monthly!

I know I am dropping a huge bomb on everyone here.

I just wanted everyone to know what to look forward to when it comes to be blog and podcast. I am still going to be actively doing the podcast. The reason why I chose to do it this way if for a few reasons.

The first reason is it will make the podcast longer then eight to ten minuets with out a guest. The secondary reason is time investment over the summer will be limited for me and I want to produce the best podcast that I can. The third is that it will give me time to look for a full time cohost. As you all know I have been searching for a while.

I absolutly love that you chose to listen to the podcast up to this point, and read the blog. For that I can not thank you enough.

You can find the podcast on all of your favorite pod-catchers! Here is a list of all of the available places. Yes, click no your favorite!

Musical Adventure: “The Space Between”

How To Destroy Angel’s is a musical group consisting of Atticus Ross and Trent Reznor (both from Nine Inch Nails), Alessandro Cortini, Reznor’s wife Mariqueen Maandig, and Rob Sheridan. They had started their musical adventure in 2009.

I have always enjoyed Reznor’s work prior to this so I had decided to give the new project a go. Ever since, I have loved this work as well. It is hauntingly beautiful and will forever have a space in my playlist.

World Questing: Music Motivation!

For all intensive purposes, let me lead this post of by saying that I absolutely love the soundtrack that the Blizzard team puts together for their expansions. However, at times I do need to listen to something different by other talented artist.

I want to give these artist the space to be creative and give them some of my attention as well when I game. To become immersed in what they are trying to achieve by listening in a way that I would naturally.

Once I listened to the following music I absolutely fell in love with all of the elements of the music.

I hope you enjoy it as much as I do!

Vaxis – Act I: The Unheavenly Creatures

coheed-and-cambria-new-pub-2-2018-jimmy-fontaine-loVaxis – Act I: The Unheavenly Creatures is the upcoming ninth studio album by progressive rock band Coheed and Cambria. It will be released on October 5, 2018. It continues the band’s Amory Wars concept.

On May 31, 2018 the band released the first two tracks of the album, “Prologue” and “The Dark Sentencer”, on YouTube. The track listing and album artwork were released on June 22, 2018. The band released the song “Unheavenly Creatures”, which is the album’s third track, on June 28. On August 16, “The Gutter” was released.

I am super excited for the release of the album on the fifth of October. I have been listening to Coheed and Cambria for a while now. It is always great to see new material from these guys!

Headstrong: Blast From The Past!

cb328d36ee4ca13081ab86c2542f6437-1000x1000x1“Headstrong” is the debut single by Trapt and the lead single from their 2002 self-titled debut album. It is a confrontational song about starting a fight. Honestly it is funny that I enjoy the song so much because that is exactly the reverse of my personality.

My senior year of high school is when the album was released. The moment I listened to the single and album, I absolutely fell in love with the sound.

Headstrong has been in various playlist since 2002. It is definitely awesome to hear a blast from the past still be in rotation.

Let’s get weird!

Yes, boy’s and girls, lets get weird but not in the way your thinking. Ew, Dont even go there. I am talking about music, silly.

For the last two weeks I have had three songs in my head and each song is very different. The first being Hollywood Undead’s Medicine from their ‘Notes from the Underground’ album. The group has been described as a rock rap group and usually I do not go for a style like this. As far in left field in comparison to the the other two song as it is, it has a theme of some pretty harsh realities that can happen in someones life.

Take a listen to the song:

The second song is Hunter by Galantis. Swedish electronic group comprised of Christian Karlsson and Linus Eklöw. The song is from their album “The Aviary”.  It is also the seventh track that features uncredited lead vocals from Hannah Wilson. I know with in the last month or so I have been a lot of this style of music in a verity of ways. Honestly, this version of the song has me so excited. When the bass dropped so did my heart.

Listen to the song:

The third song has grabbed my attention pretty swiftly. “In The Name Of Love” by Martin Garrix & Bebe Rexha is a pop inspired electronic song that has sunk its fangs into me. The song is a future bass that consist of an awesome blend of piano, bass, and guitar that hold together the song in such a way that forces you to pay attention.

Listen to the song:

So, with all the songs presented to you at this point. What has strung these specific sets of songs together for me?

The short answer: My Character in D&D currently. (I will not spoil things here kids. Sorry!) The longer answer: Just how will Zahara approach a situation that is will be in front of her eventually? I feel like the answers lay within the music here somewhere. How exactly, I am not sure. It will just depend on the adventure that she is involved in.

If you enjoyed any of the music you listened to today, please support the artist. Do not be that guy that steals music from the internet. That is just the douche way about going about it.

Your WoW Soundtrack, Part 11: Blaqk Audio!

Blaqk AudioBlaqk Audio is a duo, formed by current AFI (short for A Fire Inside) members Davey Havok and Jade Puget.

The duo  started writing music for the side project in 2001, but were deeply involved with AFI to devote enough time to the project. They returned to the project only in 2006, and the debut album CexCells was released August 14, 2007. It debuted at number 18 on the Billboard 200, selling more than 29,000 copies within its first week.

Four years later, Bright Black Heaven was released in September 2011. The album was right after touring and an album release for AFI’s Decemberundergroud.

In December of 2015, the duo updated a lot of their social media accounts to let the fans know new music was on it’s way. They worked on this album during the four year span and was written throughout 2014 and was recorded in 2015 and was originally planned for a release in 2015. Havok has said that the album is lyrically was “darker than our records of the past.” Material released in April of 2016.

I know that I have been in a strange place musically recently and Blaqk Audio, among a few other electronic artist, have been on full rotation recently. I believe that the recent music choices have been inspired by three things. One being my current D&D campaign and how my character could potentially react to things, the second being I have noticed recently my shift away from playing Warcraft and Zephirah’s story. I still love the game but I have not had a bunch of time or desire to play. It is just that point of the expansion, and I know that Zephirah will eventually be an alt. That is a hard thing to deal with. The third has been other work related things or working on several projects and staying busy in general in the real life department. None of these things are bad or are things that I can not handle. Life always has it ways of tossing you a curve ball. For the sake of not sounding like I am complaining about things, I know that I eventually get back to the game and things that I enjoy – just have to make sure everything is lined up properly.

On that note I wanted to thank Blaqk Audio, and by extension AFI, for their music over the years.
