Vaxis – Act I: The Unheavenly Creatures

coheed-and-cambria-new-pub-2-2018-jimmy-fontaine-loVaxis – Act I: The Unheavenly Creatures is the upcoming ninth studio album by progressive rock band Coheed and Cambria. It will be released on October 5, 2018. It continues the band’s Amory Wars concept.

On May 31, 2018 the band released the first two tracks of the album, “Prologue” and “The Dark Sentencer”, on YouTube. The track listing and album artwork were released on June 22, 2018. The band released the song “Unheavenly Creatures”, which is the album’s third track, on June 28. On August 16, “The Gutter” was released.

I am super excited for the release of the album on the fifth of October. I have been listening to Coheed and Cambria for a while now. It is always great to see new material from these guys!

MTG Monday: The Price Is Right?

Magic-The-Gathering-card backRecently I was on Facebook poking around and stumbled upon their marketplace section. Out of curiosity, I searched for MTG cards.

I did not find a lot of entries; however, the few entries that popped up were interesting. One of the entries listed was a few boxes full of them listed for a dollar. Looks like the guy is really wanting to get rid of them but it also looks like the guy has been collecting for longer then I have been alive. So, there is no way to pull a fast one on an grandmother trying to get things out of her basement.

Other entries listed were similar. With the exception of a few cards being listed for varying prices.

Question is, with my collection being “newer” how would I know I am not being swindled? Or are the listed items actually a good deal?

It is hard to tell from the internet unless you actually talk to the seller. Even then, it could go really good or really badly.

MTG Monday: At The Ready?

Magic-The-Gathering-card backThe major point of gathering cards for Magic! The Gathering is the intent to actually play. Sooner rather then later to not just have your cards sit on a shelf and collect dust.

Art can come in a plethora of ways; however, Magic! The Gathering is a fantastic way of using the art that you have collected.

I am currently looking for a group to play with and I have a few options. A few meaning a total of two. One option is to use Roll20. The second being a local store that sells cards and a plethora of other collectibles for Magic, D&D, Pokemon and various other things. I would rather play locally for various reasons.

I tend to learn things better when it is right in front of me. I dont totally suck at the game but learning how to improve and what I would need to fill out a deck would be great.

I will be looking into the local group here soon to see what I can figure out and report back.

Let’s get weird!

Yes, boy’s and girls, lets get weird but not in the way your thinking. Ew, Dont even go there. I am talking about music, silly.

For the last two weeks I have had three songs in my head and each song is very different. The first being Hollywood Undead’s Medicine from their ‘Notes from the Underground’ album. The group has been described as a rock rap group and usually I do not go for a style like this. As far in left field in comparison to the the other two song as it is, it has a theme of some pretty harsh realities that can happen in someones life.

Take a listen to the song:

The second song is Hunter by Galantis. Swedish electronic group comprised of Christian Karlsson and Linus Eklöw. The song is from their album “The Aviary”.  It is also the seventh track that features uncredited lead vocals from Hannah Wilson. I know with in the last month or so I have been a lot of this style of music in a verity of ways. Honestly, this version of the song has me so excited. When the bass dropped so did my heart.

Listen to the song:

The third song has grabbed my attention pretty swiftly. “In The Name Of Love” by Martin Garrix & Bebe Rexha is a pop inspired electronic song that has sunk its fangs into me. The song is a future bass that consist of an awesome blend of piano, bass, and guitar that hold together the song in such a way that forces you to pay attention.

Listen to the song:

So, with all the songs presented to you at this point. What has strung these specific sets of songs together for me?

The short answer: My Character in D&D currently. (I will not spoil things here kids. Sorry!) The longer answer: Just how will Zahara approach a situation that is will be in front of her eventually? I feel like the answers lay within the music here somewhere. How exactly, I am not sure. It will just depend on the adventure that she is involved in.

If you enjoyed any of the music you listened to today, please support the artist. Do not be that guy that steals music from the internet. That is just the douche way about going about it.

Feature Of The Week: D&D Dice!

Wednesday morning I was spending some time writing blog post and perusing through twitter when I had stumbled across a set of stunning purple galaxy dice. I promptly retweeted the photo.

I seriously believe I have a problem. Within the last month, I have purchased three full sets of dice for D&D, and four independent D20’s, and an extra random D4.  At the time of seeing the dice as shown in the photo, I also have my eyes set on two other full sets of dice.  The one set of dice that I have fell in love with recently is a set of purple steel. (The other set’s of dice can be found here and here.)

I am in love with collecting. These dice are unquestionably a set I would love to use in a session for my current campaign.

Zephirah’s Adventure: Blogging Schedule!

Since the blog’s inception it has had one consistent thing. Change. It has been nothing short of a magical adventure that I have undertaken and I am ecstatic for all of the metamorphosis the blog has undertaken.

With that being stated, I have an updated schedule of topic’s that are going to be posted through out the week.

Monday’s: Magic! The Gathering (MTG)
Tuesday’s: Tunes (music)
Wednesday’s: Warcraft
Thursday’s: Random Topic!

(Topic’s that are not covered through out the rest of the week!)

Friday’s: Feature of the week!

(This will be community based. Weather MTG, Warcraft, or anything that would spark interest at the moment!)

Saturday’s: Zephirah’s Adventure Podcast!

I know I have not mentioned Sunday’s in my list of days or topic combinations. The reason for that is I would like to plan for the following week of post and continue to keep my Sunday evenings available for my D&D Campaign.

Essentially, the blog post have went from Monday, Wednesday & Friday post up to daily with the exception of Sundays. That is a total of three more post weekly. I am taking this on because I have so many interest and want to make sure I am giving the topic’s that I would like to cover enough space to grow. The blog is called “Adventure” for a reason. So why restrict the topic list or post that I would want to post due to keeping at a schedule that does not no longer fit.

While I am here I wanted to thank all of the readers for visiting, reading, liking the post, and listening to me banter on endlessly in the podcast form of the blog. For those of you that have posted comments or provided feedback, a special thank you to you for everything. I have enjoyed our conversations and would love to interact in that capacity more often.

MTG Misadventure’s: MTGGoldfish!

Magic-The-Gathering-card backAs stated in my previous Magic! The Gathering post, I have been collecting cards for years. I recently signed up for a free account at MTGGoldfish. I just started to enter in my cards when my younger brother decided to mix my cards up and I had on idea what I entered in and was hard pressed to try and sort everything out the way that I wanted it and honestly I really did not want to take the extra effort to do so.

To answer your question, Yes I was mad for a total of five seconds but decided the best thing for me to do was to start over with entering everything into the data base again. Thankfully, MTGGoldfish has a button where you can reset your list.

So, on that note I have also come to the conclusion to enter as many cards as I can on a daily basis. With that being said, while I am working on the data entry I could put my headphones on and crank out some pretty awesome music or a podcast and have at it.

I am sure my little brother would be happy to know that I am no longer angry but what he did end up doing was motivating me, as previously noted in the prior post, to become a better player and be as motivated as possible to learn about the art that I tend to love so much. This is one of the ways that I am taking him up on that challenge.

Challenge: ACCEPTED!

With the challenge now properly laid in front of me, I know that I have a card that I had came across in my collection that I knew that I had to enter it as the first card in the MTGGoldfish database. I am excited to announce the card is “Moaning Wall”.  (You can learn more about the card here!) The reason for my choice has several layers. The first, lets face it the art is fantastic. Secondly, the flavor text is unreal. Thirdly, just because of where I live (Pittsburgh / Monroeville) is known to be the Zombie capital of the world due to having several major motion Zombie films shot in the area. The most well know of those films being the 1978 film Dawn Of The Dead.
