Your WoW Soundtrack, Part 11: Gene The Werewolf!

gene-collage-3.jpgGene The Werewolf formed in 2007 and is comprised of five natives of Pittsburgh, PA.  Gene along with guitarist Drew Donegan, bassist Tim Schultz, drummer Nick Revak and keyboard player Aaron Mediate released the albums “Light Me Up” and “Wicked Love” independently. Then in 2012, with the worldwide release of “Rock ‘n’ Roll Animal” with Frontiers Records, “The Loner” followed it up in 2016.

I had the opportunity to see the band perform live the first weekend in July and had an absolute blast. The guys were hilarious and super nice!

Thank you for the show and music guys! I had so much fun!

You’r WoW Soundtrack, Part 10: Rob Zombie!

Rob_Zombie_Living_Dead_Girl.jpgGreetings & salutations!

If you just so happen to live under a rock, do not have access to the internet, or a basic calendar, not only would you not be reading this but you would also not know that this Friday is the 13th. I decided to give this weeks blog post’s a theme.

If you have not figured it out by now the theme is Zombie’s. The theme is inspired by my D&D group that is currently running, Secrets Of Talonguard. If you are interested in listening to our campaign here is an iTunes link for you! (Click here!)

“Hellbilly Deluxe: 13 Tales of Cadaverous Cavorting Inside the Spookshow International” is the solo debut album by Rob Zombie on August 25, 1998. The album serves as his first release outside of the band White Zombie, with whom he released two multi-platinum studio albums. The song “Living Dead Girl” is the second single from the album and I absolutely love it.  The music video for the single derives its imagery from Robert Wiene’s 1920 silent film, The Cabinet of Dr. Caligari, with Zombie in the role of The Doctor.

It is wild to think that I have been a fan for this long but I have absolutely enjoyed the musical adventure. Thank you for all of the hard work and music Mr. Zombie. Really!

You’r WoW Soundtrack, Part 9: Safari!

While preparing for an episode of the podcast, I asked a few people to pick a song for the preshow music. This does not make it into the podcast itself due to copyright reasons; however, I do it for the listeners in discord to listen to during the preshow. It is usually whatever music I decide to banter about in the blog post of the week.

Music, no matter the form or language, speaks to my soul. The music choices that I make usually speaks volumes of my emotions.

For example, the video that is part of this post was suggestion by Evaric, my D&D dungeon master. (Secret’s Of Talonguard, now on iTunes!) I am immensely exhilarated he made the recommendation.

When I first clicked the play button on the youtube video it grabbed my attention right away. I stopped everything I was doing and closed my eyes, took a deep breath, and just listened for the duration of the song.

I now have discovered a song that will be in my rotation and now will be searching the Reggaton genera. Thank you Evaric!

You’r WoW Soundtrack, Part 8: Halestorm!

lzzy hale.jpgHalestorm is an rock band from Pennsylvania, consisting of lead vocalist and guitarist Lzzy Hale, her brother drummer and percussionist Arejay Hale, guitarist Joe Hottinger, and bassist Josh Smith.

This past February, the band announced that work on their fourth studio album had begun. In May they had announced the title and release date for the album.  Vicious will release on July 27, 2018 with the first single titled “Uncomfortable”.

While raiding one night, the topic of conversation landed on music. Halestorm’s discography was hitting my ears by the end of raid night. I apparently thoroughly enjoyed them ever since.

Your WoW Soundtrack, Part 7: Nine Inch Nails!

nin.jpgBad Witch is the upcoming ninth studio album by Nine Inch Nails, scheduled to be release on June 22, 2018. It will be the band’s first full-length release since 2013.

I have listened to Nine Inch Nails for the vast majority of my life, and they will forever will hold a spot in my playlist for raids, instances, or whatever daily / world quest I decided to partake in within Warcraft.

You’r WoW Soundtrack, Part 7: Royal Ruckus!

Royal RuckusA couple years ago, Royal Ruckus was on an “Evacuation” tour in coffee shops. The coffee shop here in my area is a real hole in the wall place, with really great coffee – and it was promised to be a banging show.

So, I go to the counter, order an iced coffee – as per usual french vanilla – and for the nice lady to make a cappuccino and deliver it 15 or so minuets later.

Mike, one of the duo from Royal Ruckus, was chilling out on the couch while drinking a mocha frappuccino, talking to the other people that just so happened to be there for the show.

With each song, I became more and more interested. Every song has a story behind it. They now will forever be engraved into my raid listening experience.
