MTG Monday: Christmas came early!

Greetings fellow Magic! The Gathering players. I first wanted to start the blog post with the following disclaimer. This post is not sponsored by ‘Star City Games’ or any of their affiliates.

My last post I mentioned that I had purchased a gift for my younger brother and it came in on Tuesday of last week.

When it came in I was super excited for him and my parents talked me into giving the gift early. Within the box is 1000 Magic! The Gathering cards. I was poking around Amazon and stumbled across it. (Click here for product on Amazon!)

Once I arrived, I knew what it was right away and was super excited. After a couple minuets, and some scheming. My parents and I called my little brother down from his room. We acted as if he was in trouble. The look on his face was hilarious. He really thought he was in trouble when he wasn’t. I told him to take the box out of the bag as we tell him what he was “in trouble” for.

Once he opened the box and started to take some of the cards from the box, he realized it was a gift. The boy started to cry and asked how many cards was in the box. Once he figured it was 1000, he cried a little harder.

I am super glad he is going to get use from it. Hopefully our local store has a tournament soon so he can get involved.

So, boys and girls. If you are looking for a gift for your MTG fan in your life, this is worth the money.

Check it out here!

Feature Friday: Alternative Chat!

Let me start with the following statement. With any featured blog, video, tweet, or any other from of commentary I post to the blog those are though’s of that particular person. I in no way want to sway their thoughts or opinions. I would rather like to have a conversation on the topic at hand. I am not going to openly have a salty take on things here either.

In other words, if you are going to be a jerk, this is not the place for it.

On that note, I found Alternative Chat’s “The End of the Innocence” post interesting. You can read their entire post here! (Clicky Clicky!)

In their post, and I am quoting here. “I am not here to tell you how to spend your cash. I cannot also reasonably direct anyone to stop enjoying something they clearly love and appreciate based on business decisions. The whole mantra of ‘let people enjoy what they do’ needs to continue to be sung, for as long as people have the capacity to do so. How that happens is nobody else’s business but yours.” That statement I absolutely agree with. Who are you, Alternative Chat’s author, any other player of Warcraft, and I to tell anyone to tell someone how to spend their money? I find people that do that type of thing incredibly insulting and to be quite honest an absolute jerk bag.

Alternative Chat pointed out the new mount on the Blizzard store was only meant to be for Korean player base. I will entertain the idea that they have in their post as well that it is a flying, blue colored mount that is a skin of the fox mount from Legion that could be obtained via your Class Hall Mission table. I was lucky enough to get the said mount in my collection. I use it often. Honestly, I do not know weather or not I am going to spend the cash to get it because of the other various mounts in game that I have yet to get to drop that I, as a collector, would love to have.

Is it a cash grab? Sure. Whatever terms you want to use there. However, paying for mounts from the Blizzard online store is not something new. This is also true for Battle Pets. (My previous statement about collecting in game Battle Pets in game over purchasing them still stands in this situation!)

Basically, with the changes within the company recently, one that is out there for making money. With the end of the Heroes of the Storm esports and the release globally of the mount, in the long run, making money is in mind. Do I hate that people lost their jobs? Hell yes. It is also just before the holiday season. It just plain sucks.

I just hope that their is some way to work things out in the future to have the esports for Hero’s at a smaller scale. I know people love that game and the esports behind it. How to accomplish that? I have no idea.

*sigh*

Basically, if you like the mount and want to get it – do so. If not then don’t. Also, remember that there are people behind the pixels. You know, actual humans. Practice being kind even if you do not like what happened.

Thursday Though’s: Finding A Campaign?

DRAGON!

So, it has been a while since I spent time in a campaign. At this point, I do not want to give up quite yet either.

With all the tools available, I do not think that I have spent enough time looking as of late. Holidays and life in general has offered up little time to find a group.

As of right now, It looks like I have the potential to be a part of a one shoot and a Warcraft themed game. I do not have a lot of detail’s on the Warcraft theme group as of yet other then it will be near the end of January.

The one shoot is also going to be sometime in January. Just not sure of a date.

Just as an fyi, the local game stores that are near me, do not provide a game night for D&D as of right now. It sucks.

So depending on how things work out in January, that will help me make a choice weather or not to DM a game for myself. If and when that will happen, I am not sure at this point. However, I will make an announcement on the blog after I reach out to the gaming communities I am a member of first.

Just a few though’s for you on this Thursday.

Warcraft Wednesday: 8.1 Drop!

So, I spent most of my time logged in to Warcraft today doing island expedition’s, World Quest, and leveling up a hunter alt.

It was nothing to fancy but it seems like leveling seems to be going quickly.

I am not sure what is pushing me to level up a hunter other than I haven’t had the class at max level. Otherwise, Warcraft today for me seemed to be very uneventful.

Funny thing is, the hunter is a gnome. Nothing particularly interesting other then mechanical pets. At this point I’m just doing the leveling up thing until the next raid teir is available for us middle of next month.

I don’t think we have spent enough time with the new patch for me to formulate a full opinion on it.

MTG Monday: I Am Excited!

On Saturday I have ordered a gift for my younger brother.

It is set to be here at some point throughout the day Tuesday. I am excited for it to get here. Once it arrives, I will be taking photo’s of everything and making a post about it after the holiday.

Yes, it is a MTG related gift. I have been leaving him hints and clues since I figured out what I was planning for the holiday shopping session I had this past weekend.

Not even exaggerating here to say I know once he receives it I know we are going to build a deck or two and have a blast playing. I have never been so excited to have my ass handed to me in a MTG game session before.

The only reason why I am being so secretive on what the gift is for him is because I know he reads the blog occasionally. I do not want to give anything away.

Just keep an eye out near the end of the month for further updates!

MTG Monday: Minnesota?

Magic! The Gathering card back.

So, when did the world get that nuts over cards?

Willing to get stabbed? No? I did not think so.

I do not think getting stabbed seven times over your favorite MTG deck is the best way to spend the evening either.

Let me remind you, no game, including Magic! The Gathering is worth all the trouble.

Be good to people.
