MTG Monday: Tendershoot Dryad!

Magic The Gathering card back!

I have been hankering to go to a local second hand store that sells a verity of items that would peek the interest of nerds & geeks alike. I went in with the intent to purchase a few booster packs for Amonkhet series. Unfortunately they did not have any available. I instead I purchased a ‘Rivals Of Ixalan’ booster pack. This post is going to feature a card that I acquired within the fifteen cards.

Tenderhoot Dryad, from the ‘Rivals Of Ixalan’, is a green creature card. The card effect’s are that you ascend, and if you control ten or more permanents, you get the city’s blessing for the rest of the game. Also, At the beginning of each upkeep turn, you create a 1/1 green Saproling creature token. The Sparolings you control get a +2/ +2 as long as you have the city’s blessing. (You can see the full card at the Wizard’s Of The Coast “Gatherer” tool here: http://gatherer.wizards.com/Pages/Card/Details.aspx?name=tendershoot%20dryad)

If you are looking to build a green deck, it would seem as if this card can do some real damage to the opponent you are up against.

Here is a video from youtube to explain how the card would work in a deck!

Warcraft Wednesday: Support The Game’s You Love!

I have unofficially played World Of Warcraft for twelve years, officially since two months before the drop of Cataclysm. Over these years, access to news, rumors, and a plethora of other stories have boomed due to the rise of social media.

In 2012, Blizzard released six hundred of its employees [Source]. Activation-Blizzard released eight hundred of their employees. Their reason’s are the release of a lot of their esports devision was not as conducive as a business model as they would have liked. Energies, money, man power would need to go elsewhere. I understand completely. As a business, cutting down on projects that are not earning a company money or costing them more to produce then of course moving on is the best.

I just do not understand why sign on and larger bonus’s for anyone in the company is a thing. Let me tell you the operative word in the previous sentence, ANYONE. I know that sounds harsh for the average working person to hear that their is no room to gather bonus’s; however, if the business really wants to save money, this is one major way to do so. I am not saying some of the bonus monies are not well deserved but to keep your head above water and ‘restructure’, keeping a bonus for employees does not make the slightest bit of common sense.

I know I have a business mind, and it is pretty much cut and dry for me when it comes to ventures like that; however, I also do care about the games that Blizzard has released over the years. Some more then others of course. I also know by being concerned for people who may or may not have lost their job recently. I know it sucks. No matter the way you spin it. I also know by being salty and tossing around the thought that players will not support the game due to all of the recent negative attention.

I get your pissed off; however, if you are enjoying the game, then why quit? Now for those of you that are not having a good time with the game’s Blizzard has to offer, at all, then I get it. Why pay for something that you don’t like or even play as much anymore.

What I am saying is if you like Hearthstone, Diablo, Starcraft, Hero’s Of The Storm, and Warcraft even with their flaw’s then why not help Blizzard out by giving constructive criticism? We all know nothing will ever be perfect. I also want to support the good people that also love these games too. By giving them space, helping them grow, and being better people and being a good member of whatever game and gaming community I just so happen to be a member of.

I also want to point out that I had read an article that is an interesting read and found it informative, even with the salt. Read it here: https://www.fanbyte.com/trending/kiss-my-ass-activision-blizzard/

Also, Az had some great points as well! You can watch his video below:

MTG Monday: Eldrazi Mimic!

Over the weekend I went to a local gaming store that sold a bunch of older games and various systems. They just so happened to have a small selection of Magic! The Gathering cards available to purchase. They had Oath of the Gatewatch, Ixalan, and Ravnica Allegiance booster pack’s. My eyes focused on Gatewatch, so I picked a pack up.

When I got home I put my stuff away and sat the pack on my desk. I opened up the MTGGoldfish website and busted open the pack of cards. Upon opening the pack, I got some very basic cards. Their was one card that caught my eye. That card being Eldrazi Mimic. A creature that swaps power and toughness with another colorless creature when it enters the battlefield.

The flavor text is “It is consistently inconsistent.”

I found that tag line absolutely hilarious and true.

To take a look at the card, please visit the following: http://gatherer.wizards.com/Pages/Card/Details.aspx?printed=true&multiverseid=407512

So we have some interesting news boys and girls!

This news brings a lot of speculation on what Mark may be referencing but it really makes me excited.

What do you think he is teasing?

Warcraft Wednesday: How To Be Unpopular in the Warcraft World!

Greetings fellow gamers. In this Warcraft Wednesday post we are going to talk about toxicity within the game we love. Just as a note for the readers, I am not painting the entire player base like this. I also know a bunch of players that are absolutely fantastic. This post is also generalizing a lot of situations or things that I have seen happen within the game. Hopefully you do not have to deal with this type of thing within Warcraft.

So, lets start with Trade Chat. Trade Chat at times can be filled with name calling, political talk that turns ugly, or some random conversation that turned bad. I honestly do not mind to have a conversation with someone or a group of people that I happen to disagree with. The only thing I ask for is the conversation be civil. No need to turn to name calling or be nasty with someone who just so happens to have a different opinion. That type of situation is getting old and honestly, most players are of an adult age. We as a whole should know better. I often find myself other not paying attention to chat because of it or putting trade chat in its own window in the UI and not ever clicking on that tab.

The second thing I want to address is instances. Not the mechanic’s or the instance themselves. What I am talking about here is when a tank or a healer or random dps does something wrong or does not have enough healing power to heal through the massive amount of damage, more often then not it turns into a slug fest among the players verbally. For example, one of the ranged DPS randomly pulls another pack and one of the others in the instance says “Hey, healer, you *$#^@ suck. Why did you let me die?” or something along the lines of “Tank, you suck” or whatever. Then the conversation goes no further. It sometimes comes to the tank, random DPS, or healer being kicked. For those of you that do that, it is a shame. Really. Player characters have names you know. At times it can be a complete shit show!

I know there are some players that do not really know how to play their class or they have picked the wrong class for themselves. I absolutely understand that and honestly, it is a valid point. I am not suggesting that a player give up on their toon either. What I am suggesting is for a player to spend the time learning the class they are working on and for the player base to give a player time to learn and be kind and try to use what you have to teach if you know about their class. Not be “that guy” and be rude.

This has been on my mind for a while and thank you for allowing me to spill my guts.
